Indonesian Paradise Found: Your Dream Stay at Studio Great Western Resort!
Indonesian Paradise Found: My Rollercoaster Ride at Studio Great Western Resort! (and Why You Should Book NOW!)
Okay, okay, buckle up buttercups, because I’m about to spill the tea (and probably some coffee… and maybe a little bit of my own tears) on my recent escape to Studio Great Western Resort - or as I like to call it, "Indonesian Paradise Found!"… well, mostly paradise found.
Let's get this straight: I'm not a travel blogger. I'm just a regular human who desperately needed a vacation, a massage, and maybe a tiny bit of sunshine to combat this existential dread I've been carrying around lately. And this resort… well, it delivered in some serious ways. And, yes, it stumbled a bit, too. But that’s what makes it honest, right?
First Impressions: The Good, the Bad, and the “Wait, What?”
Landing in Indonesia, the humidity hit me like a warm, slightly sticky hug. Finding the resort was a breeze – airport transfer was a lifesaver after that long flight and the Valet parking was a dream. Seriously after fighting the crowds the hotel felt like a oasis. The exterior gave off modern vibes, and the elevator got me right to my room (more on that later). The Front desk [24-hour] staff were efficient, and the Check-in/out [express] option meant less waiting and more… well, more vacationing!
Now, let’s talk Accessibility. The resort has some serious wins here. I'm particularly impressed with the Facilities for disabled guests, which included convenient ramps and accessible rooms. That’s a huge plus in my book! Elevators were easily available.
My Room: A Sanctuary (Mostly)
My room…ah, my room. The Air conditioning was a godsend, especially after a day exploring. It was equipped with everything you might need, from a Coffee/tea maker to Free bottled water. And the Wi-Fi [free] was a major perk! No more stressing about data usage! Although, I must confess, I did spend a little too long binge-watching “The Great British Bake Off” on those Satellite/cable channels, after I got to my room.
I especially loved the extra long bed and the soundproofing. I slept like a baby! The Bathrobes were fluffy, and the slippers felt like little clouds for my feet. And, bonus points for the blackout curtains – perfect for sleeping in and pretending the world doesn't exist (a vital vacation component, in my opinion).
Speaking of the room, a slight hiccup. The Room sanitization opt-out available option was there, which is important. They also provided Hand sanitizer. Between stays the rooms are completely and thoroughly cleaned using Professional-grade sanitizing services. They use Anti-viral cleaning products. It was comforting considering the current state of the world.
Food, Glorious Food! (And the Occasional Hiccup)
Let's face it, I mostly travel for food, and Studio Great Western didn't disappoint… mostly.
- Restaurants: So many options! They've got everything from Asian cuisine in restaurant and Western cuisine in restaurant with A la carte in restaurant. Plus, a Snack bar and a Coffee shop for those mid-day cravings.
- Breakfast: I'm a breakfast person, and their buffet got me excited. The Breakfast [buffet] was extensive. I ate so much Asian breakfast food and Western breakfast food that for the first 2 days I went for about 30 minutes during my breakfast. They did a great job with the Breakfast service and they can even deliver a Breakfast in room if you're feeling lazy, which I definitely was a few times.
- Other Dining Options: I didn't try the Vegetarian restaurant, but it looked promising. They also had Room service [24-hour] which was great for late-night snacks. And yes, they had a Poolside bar for those delicious cocktails!
Now, for my main issue: The coffee in the restaurant. It was… well, let's just say it wasn't exactly barista-level. But is that a huge deal? Absolutely not.
Relaxation and Rejuvenation: My Personal Nirvana
This is where Studio Great Western really shines. I am a SUCKER for a good spa day.
- The Spa: Oh. My. Goodness. The Spa was a dream! They offer a ton of luxurious experiences.
- Massages: I indulged in a massage, and it was pure heaven. The masseuse was incredibly skilled, and I emerged feeling like a brand-new person.
- Sauna and Steamroom: They also had a Sauna and Steamroom.
- Swimming Pool and View: They had a Swimming pool [outdoor] with a view to soak in. The Pool with view was one of my favorite spots.
Things to Do: Fun, Functionality, and the Occasional “Hmm…”
The resort offered a bunch of different activities, and they made it really easy to stay entertained.
- Fitness Center: I'll be honest, I barely made it to the Fitness center.
- Shopping: The resort had a Gift/souvenir shop, perfect for grabbing those last-minute treasures.
- Business Facilities: They have a Business facilities. I wasn't on a business trip, but it was good to know.
- Extras: They had cool things like a Shrine.
Cleanliness and Safety: Feeling Safe, Even in These Strange Times
This is HUGE, especially in our current world. Studio Great Western takes things seriously. They offer Cashless payment service and had a Doctor/nurse on call. Physical distancing of at least 1 meter was generally observed. They have CCTV in common areas and CCTV outside property, Fire extinguisher, and Front desk [24-hour] and Smoke alarms. It was reassuring to know.
The Little Things That Make a Big Difference
Okay, some of the small stuff that I loved:
- Daily housekeeping – my room was always spotless.
- Contactless check-in/out – super convenient.
- On-site event hosting – which made for really fun nights. (I even considered it as a Proposal spot.
- Family/child friendly – if I had brought my kids, they would have loved it.
- Additional toilet, Shower and the Toiletries were a nice touch.
- The little things: Like having Complimentary tea in the room.
My Overall Verdict: Book It! (With a Few Caveats, of Course)
Look, Studio Great Western Resort isn’t perfect. But it's genuine, it's got heart, and it offers a truly wonderful escape.
Here’s the bottom line:
- I'd give it a solid 4.5 out of 5 stars.
- The Pros: Incredible spa, great food, amazing staff, and plenty of amenities.
- The Cons: The coffee could be better.
- Do I recommend it? Absolutely!
And now, for a special offer just for you…

Okay, buckle up buttercups, because this itinerary is less "smooth travel blogger" and more "me, wrestling with a suitcase and a questionable sense of direction." We're talking Studio Great Western Resort Apartment by Travelio Indonesia. Let's see if I can actually survive.
Project: Surviving Studio Great Western Resort Apartment (and Maybe Enjoying It)
Day 1: Arrival and the Great Jakarta Jumble
- Morning (Jakarta Airport - Soekarno-Hatta): Landed! Woohoo! Except… wait. Where’s my luggage? Oh, for the love of… sighs dramatically. It's probably at baggage claim Hell, chilling with a bunch of lost souls. Okay, deep breaths. This is Jakarta. Chaos is basically the national flower. Found it! (Eventually.) The taxi driver, a true artist of the horn, blasted his way through traffic. My ears are still ringing. My stomach is already churning a mix of jet lag and street food anticipation.
- Afternoon (The Apartment Hunt): The Travelio app promised me a “seamless check-in.” Ha! Seamless like a rusty zipper. Eventually, after some frantic WhatsApp messages and a sweaty trek across the hotel lobby, I got the key. The apartment? Let's just say the photos were very flattering. There's a distinct odor of…something. Maybe an attempt at air freshener masking something worse? I'll explore later. Right now, I need to lie down.
- Evening (First Dinner and the Perils of Google Translate): Walked to the local warung, pointed at things, and prayed. Google Translate became my best friend (and my worst enemy). I think I ordered something with chicken. It was…spicy. My tongue is still on fire. But hey, I survived! Found a little convenience store to buy some water and snacks, I realized, I should have checked for the opening hours of this place. The cashier's face when I tried to pay with a credit card was priceless. I think I made her day.
Day 2: Poolside Dreams (and Mosquito Battles)
- Morning (Swimming Pool - Supposedly): Woke up to the sound of…construction? Lovely. Packed my swimsuit, determined to embrace the resort life. Found the pool! It looks way better than the apartment, I have to say at least. Sun, water, relaxation… except for the relentless mosquito army. They found me immediately. I'm covered in bites. I suspect I’m developing an immunity to Off! at this point.
- Afternoon (The Great Indoors): Retreating indoors to avoid the mosquito assault. The apartment's internet is surprisingly strong – a small win. I end up spending a few hours simply browsing the internet and doing some light research on local gems.
- Evening (Exploring the Local Area - Or Trying To): Decided to venture out. Got hopelessly lost in the maze of side streets. The sheer volume of motorbikes! It's a ballet of chaos. It's both terrifying and fascinating. I ended up stumbling upon a street food market that smelled like all my favourite foods at once but I didn't know what to eat. The fried bananas were amazing.
Day 3: The Grand Finale (Probably Just Shopping)
- Morning (Shopping Mall): The Jakarta traffic is, I cannot stress this enough, a beast. After an hour in a cab, I reach a massive shopping mall. Air conditioning! Heaven! I'm buying everything. I really need to get a suitcase.
- Afternoon (More Shopping, More Regret): Spent far too much money on…stuff. Things I probably don’t need. But hey, retail therapy, right? Now I'm hauling bags of clothes again. Should have got a bigger suitcase.
- Evening (A Desperate Search for Decent Coffee and a Bit of Peace): I spent over an hour wandering the mall in search of a good coffee. It's a quest of epic proportions. Finally, I found a place. The coffee was okay but the experience was priceless.
Day 4: Check Out and Departure
- Morning (Packing and the Great Apartment Clear-Out): So, the apartment. I'm not going to lie, I haven't kept it pristine. I've left some things unpacked. I am also pretty sure I lost the remote.
- Afternoon (Departure): The taxi ride to the airport will probably be the most chaotic thing I'll do all week. Wish me luck. I'm going to need it. Goodbye, Jakarta, you crazy, beautiful, mosquito-infested city.
Notes:
- This itinerary is subject to change based on whim, traffic, and mosquito attacks.
- My Indonesian vocabulary currently consists of "terima kasih" (thank you), "tolong" (help), and a lot of hand gestures.
- I will probably need a vacation from this vacation.
- Maybe, just maybe, I'll come back someday. But next time, I'm bringing a mosquito net.

Indonesian Paradise Found: Your Dream Stay at Studio Great Western Resort! (Or Is It?) - FAQs That Don't Suck
Okay, Seriously, What's Up With This "Paradise Found" Hype? Is the Studio Great Western Resort *Actually* Paradise?
Alright, alright, settle down, drama queens. Paradise? Look, let's be *realistic*, shall we? Paradise is probably somewhere with endless margaritas and a personal masseuse who only speaks in compliments. The Studio Great Western Resort… well, it's got its moments. I mean the pool is gorgeous! Truly Instagrammable, the kind of turquoise that makes you want to take a million selfies (which, let's be honest, I did). And the breakfast buffet? I'm gonna say, if I had a dollar for every time I piled on that amazing Indonesian nasi goreng... oh, I'd be back in Bali already!
But Paradise? Maybe not. There was that *one* time I woke up to the sound of a rooster doing its best opera impersonation at 5 AM. And the Wi-Fi? Let's just say it tested my patience more than my ability to stream cat videos. So, Paradise-ish? Definitely. Pure, unadulterated, perfectly manicured Paradise? Heck no, but that's the beauty of it! It's got character which is way better because character is what makes things memorable.
The Rooms! Spill the Tea! Are They Actually Clean? Are the Beds Comfortable? (Asking for a Friend... Who is Me.)
Okay, room drama. This is where things get…interesting. Cleanliness? Overall, yes. My room was generally shipshape. But, and there's *always* a but, I did find a rogue ant during my first 24 hours. One single ant! It was on the window ledge, just chilling, probably plotting world domination or something. I sent a pic to a friend who promptly called me "dramatic". Sigh. But hey, it's Indonesia, right? They're everywhere.
Beds. Ah, the beds. This is where I go full Goldilocks. Not too hard, not too soft, but somewhere in between. I found the beds to be… *mostly* comfortable. A slight dip in the middle did hint at some more... 'lived time', but the clean sheets were divine. Did I sleep like a baby? Yep. Did I wake up feeling like a crumpled piece of paper on one of the days? Also yes. It's a gamble, folks, it's a gamble. But overall, I'd give the beds a solid 7 out of 10. I would still use earplugs because even the aircon can be a bit noisy at night.
The Pool! Is it as Gorgeous as the Pictures? Does it Get Overcrowded? (I Need Pool Time!)
The pool. Oh, the pool. This is where the Studio Great Western *shines*. Seriously, those pictures? They're not even lying! It's gorgeous. Turquoise, sparkling, inviting… Basically, it's the reason I got addicted to staying there! The infinity edge is a must-do photo op (and yes, I totally did it). Does it get crowded? Yeah, sometimes. The best time to grab a sunbed is early in the morning, before the sun worshippers and the families descend. I learned that the hard way on my first day, and had to resort to the uncomfortable chairs. Avoid the peak times, and you'll be fine. Plus, the pool bar is nearby, which is a major win. (Side note: I may or may not have spent an embarrassing amount of time sipping cocktails by the water).
The Food! What's the Grub Like? Is it Safe to Eat? (I'm a Delicate Flower)
Okay, food. This is where I have to give a big shout out to the staff at the restaurant. They are so quick and eager to meet your needs! The included breakfast buffet is… well, honestly, I loved it. The nasi goreng was divine (I might’ve mentioned that before). Fresh fruit, pastries, eggs cooked to order…it's a solid start to the day! Is it safe to eat? Generally, yes. I have a sensitive stomach, and I had no issues. But, you know, common sense prevails. Always drink bottled water, be wary of street food (unless you know what you're doing, which I don't), and maybe pack some Imodium just in case. Better safe than sorry!
I did have one slight food hiccup. I ordered room service one night, and the satay skewers were, ahem, *slightly* undercooked. I learned this at 2 am. I immediately went to bed. But let's just say next time I'm sticking to the grilled vegetables.
What's the Location Like? Is it Easy to Get Around? Is it Near Anything Interesting?
Location, location, location! The Studio Great Western is in a decent spot. It's not smack-bang in the middle of all the action, which is actually kind of nice. It's a bit more peaceful. Getting around is easy enough – taxis are readily available, and Grab (the Southeast Asian equivalent of Uber) is your best friend. The resort also provides some shuttles to nearby attractions and shopping which is a huge plus! Nearby, well, there are some restaurants and shops within walking distance, but you'll probably want to explore further afield. Seminyak is a short taxi ride away, which is where I spent most of my time (shopping, beach clubs, you know the drill!). And don't forget the beaches! Some of the best beaches are within easy reach. It may not be right next to the most iconic spots, but it's still pretty awesome, which is fine by me.
Anything I Should Watch Out For? Any Warning Signs? (I'm Naive, Please Help!)
Okay, the "heads up" section. First, the roosters. They're early risers, and they're loud. Pack earplugs! Second, the mosquitoes. These little bloodsuckers exist. Bring bug spray! Third, be aware of taxi scams. Always agree on a price beforehand or use Grab. Fourth, the Wi-Fi. It can be spotty. Don't rely on it for important work calls. And finally, be prepared for the odd power outage. It happens. But hey, these are minor inconveniences. Overall, just be aware of your surroundings and be respectful of local customs. And smile! The Balinese are incredibly friendly. That's it. You'll be fine.
Would You Go Back? (The Ultimate Question!)
Would I go back? Absolutely. Despite the rooster, the Wi-Fi, and the occasional ant, I had a really good time. The pool alone is enough to lure me back! The staff were lovelyHotel Finder Reviews
